Independence Weekend

We had a jammed pack weekend. Saturday we headed up for our annual July 4th family reunion at my uncle's lake house. We didn't have everybody there, but still had a lot of fun. We got to eat some yummy bbq, ride on a boat, have some fun on the water, and eat some pie, cobbler, and cake. Great time with family. We brought our camera, but didn't get but a few pictures. Here are just two:

Sunday evening we headed to a friend's house for a cookout. Delicious food and fun times with friends. Ellie had a lot of fun playing in the pool with Addison and her new friend, Claire. She also got to hold a live worm for the first time. She was very hesitant at first, even after Addison and Claire were touching/holding them, but eventually she decided to go for it with much encouragement. She ended up thinking it was very interesting and fun.

Monday we had a day at the pool, then an evening at the local park. Holly Springs was hosting an Indepedence Day celebration. Ellie was able to bounce in a inflatable thing, color, sing/dance, and sit in a fire truck. We didn't stay for the fireworks (which I'm not happy about), but instead went home for ice cream. Turned out to be a great weekend, although the girls are definitely exhausted. Next year we definitely are going to see some fireworks, daddy promised me!
