Having Fun in Your Shoes

Ellie loves to try on any of my shoes. She is always pulling out my high heels in our closet and trying to put them on. She rarely succeeds by herself, but the other day she found my tennis shoes and got them on by herself!

She couldn't walk in them like she can walk in those high heels :)

Fun with Friends

I was watching Addison and Ellie the other weekend when the daddies went to Lowes. They always have so much fun together, so I had to catch them on video. Enjoy!

Can't Resist

I love how much Ellie loves to dance, and how she can't resist it either (keep watching her head after she stops):

Never Gets Old

I absolutely hate when she does this, but every time, it never fails... I always laugh. She LOVES to rub her hands in her hair when she is eating. It doesn't happen every time, just when there is something sticky or wet and crumby. Sooner or later she'll start to care about the hair...

Pool Closed

It was such a beautiful hot day today, so what better way to spend it then at the pool? Well we arrived, the day that I remember to bring my camera, and find this:

This is how Ellie felt about it:
Not too happy, but we'll be back tomorrow!

The Case for Early Marriage (and even Parenthood)

I found this article to be very interesting, and I would have to agree with the statements the author, Albert Mohler, makes. I won't repeat what he says, so you should definitely take 5 minutes to read.

http://www.albertmohler.com/blog_read.php?id=4161

The trend of getting married later and later, definitely is against the way our bodies are made. Not only is this article's argument good for early marriage, but it could also be used for becoming younger parents. We also see a trend of women waiting longer and longer to have children (partly due to marrying later, but also many other contributing factors). Our bodies are designed to have children between the ages of 18-26 years. The later we have children, the higher the risk of complications and infertility. Just ask a doctor.

Some food for thought... feel free to leave a comment or send me an e-mail, I am very interested in your views of the article or even my previous statement.

What's Going On?

Sorry for the scarce blog entries, we've been busy and have been very slack at taking picture or videos. I'll tell you a little bit of what's going on in our lives.

We have had a lot of church activites/trainings to go to the past 2 weeks. Our church has been preparing for the hundreds of college students that have now come back to the Summit, it also has been training us for a new children's sunday school curriculum, and we've started a new group in Holly Springs. On top of that we have many weddings coming up which means showers to attend, and also many consignment sales are in full swing which means I'm trying to find steals on new clothes for Ellie and baby girl #2! We still haven't decided on a name for baby girl #2, but this time we have decided to share her full name as soon as we've decided! So be looking forward to that :)

The past four days, Ellie has been consistently having diarrhea. No fever, no vomiting, just some very nasty and frequent diapers. We called the doctor to see how we can help get rid of it, and right now we are trying Pedialyte/Gatorade and the BRAT (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) diet. We've eliminated milk and are just making sure to keep her hydrated. She has been in a great mood, so we are very puzzled to why she has it.

Ellie is now 16 months and saying more and more words everyday. In the morning she'll come in our room and just babble and babble. It sounds like she is speaking a completely different language, but so adorable! She also has been noticing a lot more babies recently. She seems very concerned when they cry, I think it'll be very interesting to have a new baby in the house... and I am very excited!

Hopefully I'll get better very soon and show you some cute pictures or videos... for now I will post something I found very interesting...

Stacy Clearman

This morning we went to a local coffee shop that has a music time for toddlers. It's not just any music time, they have an awesome singer, Stacy Clearman, who comes in and jams with the kids. Ellie didn't get very into it, she had to check everything out. I'm thinking after just a few more times, she'll be up there dancing. Just check out how awesome he is:

Of course, this is only one of the songs he did. He also did Old McDonald, Twinkle Twinkle, and others. He's very involved with the kids and in this tiny coffee shop there are over 30 kids! Amazing, and fun!

Meet Addison

About a month ago Zach and I somewhat launched a new Summit Small Group in Holly Springs. I say somewhat because we didn't actually start our first meeting until last Sunday. In this group there is another couple our age, Uriah and Katie, with a daughter, Addison, that is just four months older than Ellie. Katie and I instantly started hanging out because we both had been praying for a playmate in Holly Springs (playmate for not just our daughters but also for us mommies).

Meet Addison (so cute!):

Needless to say, they absolutely ADORE each other. We hang out every week, and well this week almost everyday! We are finding more and more things to do in Holly Springs with our little ones. Ellie and I tend to get bored very quickly in the house, so we are always looking for new things to do. Of course we love having company, it always makes it better... and well, Katie and Addison love hanging out too!

Here's one of the two of them, right after they gave each other a kiss:

21 weeks and my new hair!

So I've been wanting to try a different style on my hair this whole summer, and I finally thought it was time. So I went and got it chopped off! I love it, I hope it's as cute as I think it is!

Big Girl!

Ellie slept in her "big girl" bed last night for the first time! It took about 1.5 hours to get her to fall asleep because she mostly wanted to play. I laid in the bed with her until she was knocked out (I also took myself a little nap in the process). She did fabulous after that and didn't wake up until her usual time, 8am! We are so glad she did so extremely well, we'll see how tonight goes.

We are still in the process of getting her room done, all we have left is to finish painting her furniture and moving her clothes and toys in there. (We will post pictures when we're done).

Reality is here... our second baby girl is coming!
